Wichita State will look to begin a new winning streak Friday night when the Shockers host Evansville in Charles Koch Arena at 7 p.m. CDT.

-Wichita State (10-11, 5-5) plays host to Evansville (8-14, 3-8) Friday night and Southern Illinois (11-11, 5-6) Sunday afternoon. SIU, which is currently in fifth place, plays at Missouri State on Friday night before facing the Shockers on Sunday.
-The Shockers are in fourth in the MVC standings at 5-5 behind Missouri State, at 7-3. Evansville is tied for eighth at 3-8 in the MVC.
-Former Shocker Head Coach Linda Hargrove was named Shocker Head Coach Jan. 22. She was the fourth head coach in Shocker history, and is now the eighth head coach. She was 113-136 at WSU in nine seasons, and had a collegiate coaching record of 429-248 in 26 seasons.
-Hargrove is now 115-137 at WSU in a 10th season and 431-249 overall.
-Assistant Coach Kirk Crawford was the acting head coach for WSU's wins against Bradley and Illinois State Jan. 20/22. WSU defeated Illinois State, 67-45, and Bradley, 65-54.
-The Shockers are 490-537 in conference play since 1982 in the Gateway (1982-91) and Missouri Valley Conferences (1992-Present).
On the Series ... WSU leads the overall series 26-21 since the series began in Jan., 1995. WSU won in Evansville this season, and won both meetings a year ago.
On Evansville... Camry Williams leads the Aces this season, averaging 14.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.2 steals. The Ft. Myers, Fla., native is the only MVC player in the top five in points and rebounds, and she currently ranks second in the nation in takeaways.Sara Dickey, UE's all-time leading scorer, is second on the team with 14.7 points per game, and Sasha Robinson is second in boards at 7.5 per contest.
In the First Meeting... Wichita State made 9-of-12 free throws in the final 1:20 to take a 74-67 win over Evansville inside the Ford Center.
WSU (6-10, 1-3) was led in scoring by
Angiee Tompkins' 16 points, while
Rangie Bessard had 13 points, including three free throws down the stretch. Evansville's (7-9, 2-3) Camary Williams led the Aces with a game-high 24 points.
All 10 Shockers that played scored in the game. WSU's ball movement in a five-woman platoon rotation contributed to 15 assists on 21 baskets.
Five-Straight... Wichita State's five-game winning streak, broken on Sunday, was its longest since the 2014-15 season when the Shockers won 12-straight to close out the regular-season and three-straight tournament games.
Bessard the Second... Rangie Bessard has scored in double-figures in seven-straight games and 13 of the last 14 as the second-leading scorer in the Valley at 15.8 points a game. In Valley-only play, she has double-figures in nine-of-10 games and is also the second-leading scorer in MVC-only games at 16.0 a game.

Rangie Bessard's career scoring average of 15.7 points a game through 43 games is on pace to finish in the Shocker Top 5 in history. She averaged 15.5 points a game a year ago in 24 games, and this year is at 15.8 a game. Marguerite Keeley averaged 20.8 points a game from 1975-77, while Allison Daniel averaged 14.9 points a game from 1982-86.
Last Time Out... Despite forcing 18 turnovers and scoring 34 points in the paint, the Shockers fell to Missouri State 65-60, Sunday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena.
The Shockers forced 18 turnovers in the game while only turning the ball over 14 times and also outscored the Lady Bears in the paint 34-14. The Lady Bears knocked down eight three-pointers while the Shockers hit just three.
Keke Thompson led the Shockers with a career high 16 points, while
Rangie Bessard followed with 15 points. Bessard and
Diamond Lockhart also grabbed six boards.
Lexi Hughes led the way for the Lady Bears scoring a game-high 22 points, grabbing two rebounds and collecting two assists.
Martin Moves Up… With 18 blocks this season senior
Brittany Martin has 131 for her career and is 20 from moving into the Shocker Top 10. The Shocker record is 256 by Theresa Dreiling from 1979-83.
Rangie Fills It Up... After 21 games, the Shockers are led in scoring by Bessard (15.8) and Mike (8.7). Bessard also leads WSU on the boards with 6.9 a game. She had 17, 20, 16 and 12 points, respectively, in the first four games of the year, but was injured in the Stanford game and missed the Northeastern and Arkansas State games. In the 15 games since returning, she has had double-figure scoring in 14-of-15 games, and is averaging 15.8 ppg in Valley play.
