WICHITA, Kan. – No. 67 Wichita State will look to earn its first-ever NCAA Tournament win Saturday morning when the Shockers face No. 19 Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Team Championships in Stillwater, Okla., at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The No. 16 overall seed and host, Oklahoma State will face Bryant following the WSU-Arkansas match Saturday at approximately 12 p.m. with the two winners advancing to the round of 32 Sunday at 1 p.m. The team that advances from the Stillwater Region will head to Tulsa, Okla., for the NCAA Championships the following week.
Shockers In The NCAA Tournament
- Marks the 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history
- Last played in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, a 4-1 loss to Oklahoma
- WSU is still hunting for its first-ever tournament win (0-10)
MVC Regular Season & Tournament Champs
The Shockers won the regular season and tournament title to earn an automatic bid. Wichita State's MVC Championship was its Valley-leading 25th in school history after defeating Drake, 4-3, in a thriller at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.
Ostojic MVC Player Of The Year
Tin Ostojic battled injuries throughout his senior campaign, but still helped lead the Shockers to an MVC Championship and Valley Player of the Year honors. He spent the entire season ranked in the ITA Singles rankings, including one of the highest rankings in school history to begin the season at No. 27. Playing in the No. 1 singles and doubles position all season, Ostojic put together a 14-5 singles mark in dual play. In doubles, he and
Jocelyn Devilliers were 17-6 overall and 16-5 in dual matches.
Ostojic Headed Back To Individual Championships
The Zagreb, Croatia, native is set to return to the NCAA Individual Championships for a second consecutive season. Ostojic was selected to compete in the singles draw May 25-30 in Tulsa, Okla. Last season he advanced to the round of 32, becoming the first Shocker since 1996 to win an NCAA match. He finished one win shy of All-America status. Ostojic has put together a stellar 76-32 career mark as a Shocker, including a 14-7 record this year. He missed the last four regular season matches to rest an ankle injury.
Shockers Well-Represented On MVC All-Conference Team
Joining Ostojic on the All-Conference Team was five of his teammates.

Jocelyn Devilliers,
Miroslav Herzan,
Haru Inoue and
Eddie Stoica all earned all-conference honors after collecting the MVC Championship.
Elite 18 For Devilliers
A week after being named to his second consecutive MVC Scholar-Athlete Team,
Jocelyn Devilliers now is the proud owner of this season's MVC Elite 18 award. Majoring in International Business with 3.39 GPA, Devilliers is 12-15 in singles play after primarily playing in the No. 3 spot.
Wichita State In The Rankings
WSU jumped back into the ITA Team Rankings after winning the MVC Championship. The Shockers rank No. 67 in the final standings before postseason play. Senior
Tin Ostojic is the only Shocker represented in the ITA Singles or Doubles rankings. The WSU captain sits at No. 95 in the singles rankings.
Scouting Arkansas
Out of the Southeastern Conference, Arkansas enters the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 19 in the ITA Rankings. The Razorbacks went 7-5 in league play this season with wins vs. No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 19 Texas, No. 28 Ole Miss, No. 41 Alabama and No. 43 Vanderbilt. Arkansas is represented in the ITA Singles Rankings with Mike Redlicki at No. 21 and Jose Salazar at No. 62. Redlicki and Giammarco Micolani sit just inside the top 20 at No. 19 in the doubles rankings.
