WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State will wrap up its regular season with matches on Saturday and Sunday vs. Missouri Valley opponents Illinois State and Southern Illinois. The Shockers face ISU on Saturday at 3 p.m. and SIU on Sunday at 10 a.m. with both matches to be played indoors due to weather.

Senior Day
Wichita State will recognize its two seniors, Tin Ostojic and Sergio de Vilchez, on Sunday in between doubles and singles play vs. SIU. De Vilchez, a transfer from Northwest Missouri State, enters his final regular season matches with a career record of 21-16 in singles and 15-13 mark in doubles. He was a top 20 player nationally during his two seasons at NWMSU in both singles and doubles. Ostojic, a Zagreb, Croatia, native has put together a 76-31 career record in singles and 87-29 record in doubles. He has played at the No. 1 doubles position all four seasons and has been named MVC Player of the Week six times, while also earning MVC All-Conference and MVC All-Select Team honors twice. Ostojic was the MVC Freshman of the Year during his first season and as a junior made it to the NCAA Championships in both singles and doubles where he advanced to the Round of 16 in doubles and Round of 32 in singles. He will leave WSU as one of the best men's tennis players in school history.

Last Time Out
Playing without No. 1 singles and doubles player and senior captain Tin Ostojic due to injury, the Shockers fell to No. 46 Drake, 4-1, in WSU's MVC opener. Freshman Eddie Stoica recorded the lone point for Wichita State at No. 4 singles. Stoica defeated Bayo Philips in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Wichita State Notables
Ostojic climbed 21 spots in the most recent ITA singles rankings to No. 79. Ostojic is the lone player in the Missouri Valley Conference ranked in the ITA singles rankings. In the doubles rankings, Miroslav Herzan and Haru Inoue slid 13 spots to No. 67, while Ostojic and Jocelyn Devilliers moved up three slots to No. 87.
 
About Illinois State
The Redbirds come to Wichita with an 8-11 record overall and 0-1 mark in MVC play. Illinois State dropped its lone Valley match to Southern Illinois, 4-3, last weekend. Illinois State owns wins over Green Bay, Chicago State, Creighton, Omaha, Army, Bethune-Cookman, Boston and Western Illinois.

About Southern Illinois
SIU sports a 12-3 record overall and 1-0 record in the MVC after a 4-3 win over Illinois State. The Salukis also registered wins over Eastern Kentucky, Mercer, NIU, UIC, Eastern Illinois, Austin Peay, McKendree, Lipscomb, Saint Louis and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. SIU's Jonny Rigby and Michal Kianicka are ranked No. 89 in the ITA doubles rankings.
