Box Score (PDF)COLLEGE STATION, Texas – On the last day of the Aggie Classic, the Wichita State softball team lost to No. 24 Texas A&M, 9-1 to give the Shockers a 2-3 record on the season and on the weekend.
Wichita State collected six hits on the day but gave up nine. The Shockers also committed three errors in a game that was called in the sixth inning for a run-rule.
The Shockers were led by
Paige Luellen who collected two hits and one walk while also driving in the team's only run.
Wichita State had a nice start, scoring first again after
Mackenzie Wright led off the game with a single. After two ground outs, a single by Luellen gave the Shockers their only run of the game.
Tori Vidales of the Aggies led the way for Texas A&M hitting two of the Aggie's three homeruns in her first two at-bats.
Wichita State is now 2-3 and will be in action again on Fri., Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m., as the Shockers will take on San Jose State in the first game of the Demarini Desert Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
