WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State women's basketball has signed student-athlete Lauren Brocke to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Jody Adams-Birch announced today.
Brocke, a 6-foot-2 wing from Boise, Idaho, is ranked 19
th at her position by ESPN and is labeled a three-star recruit. She helped Centennial High School to a 21-4 record a year ago and a state runner-up finish.
As a junior, she averaged 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds a game and shot 52 percent from the field.
"Im very excited to welcome Lauren and her family to Shocker Nation and our Women's Basketball family," said Adams-Birch. "Lauren is a gifted young lady and I love her competitive spirit and work ethic. What caught my eye when watching her over the summer was her IQ, ability to make reads on offense, and her competitive drive on both sides of the ball.
"Her offense has multiple layers to it with the ability to run the floor in transition, attack the rim with poise to finish and stretch the defense to the three point line. Lauren's versatility allows her to play multiple positions in our offense and her size and agility allows her to guard inside and out."
Lauren's AAU team is Idaho Hoop Dreams, and she also played Powderpuff Football for Centennial High School.
