WICHITA, Kan. -Â Women's basketball head coach Jody Adams has announced that junior guard
Hannah Mortimer has received a scholarship for this season.
A transfer from Brown Mackie College, Mortimer was a walk-on earlier this season. The Salina, Kansas native will add depth to the guard positions, and increases the roster total to 11 players.
"She's a great example of someone that you could never question her effort or attitude," said Adams. "Because of that effort, attitude, and love for this program, I'm giving her a scholarship this semester."
Mortimer played in 27 games last season for Brown Mackie. She averaged 16.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. She shot 80.9% from the free throw line, good for 18th in NJCAA Division II.
"She works hard every day," said sophomore guard
Aundra Stovall. "She's been a big spark for us."
