WSU (8-5, 2-0 Missouri Valley Conference) claimed its 12th-straight win over Bradley (2-13, 0-2 MVC), establishing a new school record for consecutive Shocker victories over one MVC foe. The streak is also tied for the fifth-longest by one active Valley school over another.

Freshman Markis McDuffie led all scorers with 14 points on 4-6 shooting and pulled down a team-best six rebounds (four of them on the offensive end).

Fred VanVleet finished with 13 points and five assists, and Shaquille Morris added 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Ron Baker finished with seven points, six assists, two steals and just one turnover

A total of 13 Shockers tallied at least one field goal, and the team combined to hit a season-high 55.1 percent (27-of-49).  WSU's 60.7 percent first-half effort was its best shooting half of the season.

WSU busted the game open early with a 19-0 run over a stretch of five minutes, growing a slim 20-18 lead to a comfortable 39-18 cushion at the 4:54-mark.

While making their big push, the Shockers knocked down 6-of-8 from the field and further capitalized on four offensive rebounds and eight Bradley fouls. The Braves managed just two shots during the run and turned it over seven times.

WSU led 48-24 at the break and upped the margin to as many as 31 points midway through the second half.

The Shockers outscored Bradley 36-20 in the paint and held a 45-24 edge in bench points. They matched their season-high with 29 points off turnovers.

Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye led the Bradley scoring effort with nine points. Donte Thomas had eight points and eight rebounds, and Scottie James chipped in eight points and five boards. The hosts finished 17-of-45 from the field (38 percent).

WSU extended its winning streak to three-games and has won six-of-seven contests since VanVleet's return from a strained hamstring.

The Shockers have an early opportunity to assume control of the MVC race with games against two of the other three Valley unbeaten coming in the week ahead.

Evansville (13-2, 2-0 MVC) comes to town Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tip on Cox Channel Kansas. The Shockers then travel to Southern Illinois (13-2, 2-0 MVC) on Saturday for a 3 p.m. game on CBS Sports Network.

Notes:

* WSU extended its MVC road winning streak to five games and improved to 2-2 in true road games this year.

* VanVleet leapt into a tie for 13th on the MVC's career assists chart with his five assists, passing Creighton's Antoine Young (505; 2008-12). VanVleet (506 assists) is now even with Evansville's Jason Holsinger (2005-09) and needs three more to match former Southern Illinois guard Bryan Mullins (509; 2005-09) for 12th-place.

* WSU's current 12-game streak against Bradley matches the Braves' own 12-game run against Drake from 1993-99 for the fifth-longest series winning streak involving active Valley schools. Southern Illinois has the longest, winning 17-straight against Drake from 2000 to 2008.
