Shockers Sign Graduate Transfer Grady

WICHITA, Kan. – Graduate transfer Anton Grady has signed a Financial Aid agreement and will join the Wichita State men's basketball team for the 2015-16 season.

The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward was a First Team All-Horizon League performer for Cleveland State in 2014-15, after averaging 14.3 points and a team-high 7.9 rebounds per contest. He was also a member of the league's All-Defensive squad.

Grady has one season remaining and is immediately eligible.

"Anton certainly fills a need within our program with the departure of Darius Carter," WSU head coach Gregg Marshall said. "He can score the ball inside and out, is a relentless rebounder, and is also a very good defensive player. We feel like his maturity along our front line will be very beneficial."

As a freshman in 2011-12, Grady was the sixth-man for a CSU team that won 22 games and reached the NIT. He averaged 8.5 points and 6.4 rebounds, landing on the Horizon League's All-Newcomer team.

Grady averaged 13.5 points over the first six games of the 2012-13 campaign before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Granted a medical redshirt, Grady returned to form in his second sophomore season, averaging 10.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in 2013-14.

As a junior, Grady helped lead CSU to its second-consecutive postseason appearance and a first round win in the CIT.

He played some of his best basketball down the stretch, averaging 15.5 points and 9.4 rebounds during conference play. In 16 Horizon League games, Grady tallied a conference-best eight double-doubles.

A Cleveland native, Grady was an All-Ohio selection and helped lead Cleveland Central Catholic High School to a state runner-up finish as a senior in 2010-11. He earned three-star ratings from ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com and was ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the state of Ohio.

Grady is the son of Eric Gould and the nephew of former NBA player Earl Boykins.
