Scouting Indiana State
The Sycamores are 12-13 overall and 2-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against Louisiana-Monroe, Grambling State, Vanderbilt, Youngstown State, Central Michigan, Canisius twice, Rutgers, Missouri State, Evansville, Butler and Ball State. Losses have come against Central Arkansas, Vanderbilt twice, Georgia Tech three times, Youngstown State, Nebraska twice, Missouri State twice and Evansville twice. INS is hitting .269 as a team with a team ERA of 4.24. They also have a .974 fielding percentage. Leading the way offensively is Andy Young who is hitting .326 with eight doubles and 24 RBI. The Sycamores are led by head coach Mitch Hannahs.

Wichita State leads the overall series with Indiana State, 92-44. WSU is 49-20 overall against the Sycamores in Wichita. The Shockers are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings with the Sycamores.

Last Meeting vs. INS
The last meeting between the two teams was a three-game series in Terre Haute, Ind., April 5-6, 2014. The Sycamores swept the series by scores of 3-0, 3-2 and 5-4. Casey Gillaspie went 5-for-11 with three home runs to lead the Shockers. A.J. Ladwig, Aaron LaBrie and Sam Tewes each took a loss.
 
Tinkham Leads Valley in Doubles
Junior Ryan Tinkham had one more double on Wednesday to give him a team-best 14 on the season. He also leads the Valley in doubles. He is hitting a team-best .343 with 19 runs, 34 hits, 14 doubles and 19 RBI.
 
Hilliard Catching Fire at the Plate
Junior Sam Hilliard has caught fire offensively in the last 10 games. He is 14-for-34 (.412) with nine runs, four doubles, one home run and 16 RBI. On the season he is hitting .312 with 16 runs, six doubles, one home run and 20 RBI.
 
Hayes Steps Up in the Bullpen
Junior right-hander John Hayes has become a valuable part of the Shocker bullpen. In the last 10 games, he has made five appearances and is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA. He has pitched 12 innings and allowed just three earned runs with 14 strikeouts.
