Tewes Strikes Out Career-High
Sophomore pitcher Sam Tewes put together a strong performance on Friday at Long Beach State. He pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on five hits with no walks and a career-high eight strikeouts. In three starts this season, he is 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched.
Tinkham On Base
Junior Ryan Tinkham has reached base in all 10 games this season. He leads the Shockers with four multiple-hit games and two multiple-RBI games. He is hitting .382 through 10 games with 13 hits, five doubles, seven RBI and three stolen bases.
Season-Long Homestand
Wichita State returns home for a season-best 10-game homestand. The Shockers host Central Michigan (March 6-8), Central Arkansas (March 10), Arkansas-Little Rock (March 11), UC Santa Barbara (March 13-15) and Western Illinois (March 17-18) during the homestand.
