-Wichita State (24-4, 15-1) travels to Evansville Thursday and Indiana State on Saturday in the final regular-season games as they try to gain sole possession of the MVC Regular-season title before heading to the MVC Tournament March 12-15 in St. Charles, Mo.
-WSU secured a piece of its third-straight Missouri Valley Conference championship with a 66-54 win against UNI Sunday afternoon. Senior Jamillah Bonner, one of three seniors playing her last home game in Charles Koch Arena, scored 23 points to lead the Shockers. After the game, Bonner, Alex Harden and Kelsey Jacobs were honored for their outstanding careers and the entire team cut down nets to celebrate at home the regular-season title.
-The win also completed a 16-0 undefeated home record and extend the home-court winning streak to 17 games.
-WSU defeated Drake, 80-59, Friday night to become the league-leader with three games remaining. Harden had 23 points in the win, her fourth time in the last six outings she has scored more than 20 points, and the fifth-straight game she had led WSU in scoring.
-With 34 points combined against Drake and UNI, Alex Harden is just 45 points shy of becoming the Shockers' all-time leading scorer. Allison Daniel has 1,638 points as the all-time leading scorer from 1982-86.
-At 24-4 overall, Wichita State has won 20 games for the fourth-straight season and at least 24 games for three-straight. WSU has won 20 games six times overall since 1974-75.
-WSU experienced its first Valley loss of the season, a 64-61 loss at Drake Feb. 1, to relinquish the MVC lead at the halfway mark of the conference season.
-WSU's Valley win streak to open the season ended at eight, which ranks third in history. The Shockers started MVC play 12-0 in 2013-14, 10-0 in 2012-13 and 7-0 in 2011-12.
-Alie Decker had 31 points in a record-breaking performance against Winthrop where she had nine treys and went on to earn National Player of the Week honors.
-Harden scored a career-high-tying 31 points in the win at Missouri State. She was named the MVC Player of the Week for her effort.
-The Shockers defeated Indiana State, 63-52, in the MVC-opener as Alex Harden had 21 points and 11 steals, which tied a school record.
-This is the 41st season of modern Wichita State women's basketball.

16-0 ... WSU completed the regular-season at home undefeated for only the second time in history with a 16-0 record. WSU's other undefeated record at home was 11-0 in 1999-00, while the Shockers have just one, one-loss home record, and that was 8-1 in 1975-76. At 16-0 in 2014-15, WSU now has the most home wins in a season by two wins as the 2013-14 team had 14 wins, but two losses.

24-4 ... Wichita State carries a 24-4 overall record which ties for the second-most wins in a season for the Shockers. The 2012-13 team had 24 regular season wins against 10 losses, while the 2013-14 team had 26 wins and seven losses. The Shockers won just nine games a season prior to Adams' arrival, and 13 her first season in 2008-09, while the 2013-14 team lost just seven games, only the second season in Shocker history the team had single-digit losses. This season will be only the third season in history with single-digit losses.

Three ... Wichita State clinched a piece of its third regular-season title with wins against Drake and UNI this weekend. With no MVC regular-season or tournament titles prior to Jody Adams' arrival at WSU, the program continues to build on its best Era in history.

15 ... The Shockers' 15 MVC regular-season wins ties for the most in WSU history with two games remaining. WSU's 2012-13 team went 15-3 in the MVC regular season.

Adding On... At 24-4 overall, Wichita State has won 20 games for the fourth-straight season and six times overall since 1974-75. WSU also won 20 games in 1980-81 and 1999-00 under head coaches Larry Thye and Darryl Smith, respectively.

Edging Closer to No. 1... Alex Harden needs just 45 points to tie Allison Daniel as WSU's all-time leading scorer. Daniel is the Shockers' leading career scorer with 1,638 points from 1982-86, and Harden has 1,593 points.
Harden is already in the career Top Five in assists (3rd-424), blocks (5th-108), steals (2nd-255) free throws made (3rd-359).

NCAA Defense and More... Wichita State was ranked No. 1 in the country in scoring defense as of Jan. 27 with a 49.4 point per game average but fell to fourth (50.4)after giving up 52, 64, 50, 55, 36,41, 61, 59 and 54 points the last nine games. UConn is first at 47.1, UALR is second at 49.9 and Chattanooga is third at 50.3 points a game.
Alex Harden is 13th nationally in steals a game with 3.15 a game. She has 85 in 27 games.
Alie Decker fell out of the three-point field goal percentage list as the minimum is two made a game, but she is shooting 40.4 percent (55-136 in 28 games).

At the Line... Wichita State is shooting free throws at a pace that would rank at the top of the WSU team free throw percentage list at 74.6 percent. The WSU team record is 71.4 percent shot by the 2001-02 team.

More Stats... Wichita State's scoring defense has been one of the top numbers in the country and currently sits at 50.4 points a game. Part of that defense can be attributed to the 102 blocked shots the Shockers have to date, which ranks 12th
in WSU history. The Shockers' 1980-81 team holds the record and had 194 led by Theresa Dreiling's 88. Dreiling had 91 the next season.

Harden's Thefts... Alex Harden's 85 steals has also kept opponent offenses from completing possessions and that number ranks second on the WSU season steal list. Overall, she has 255 career steals, which ranks second in WSU history. She needs 45 more steals to reach No. 1 and Lateesha Hill's 300 from 1996-00.

Three-Years of Stingy Defense... Wichita State's defensive scoring average is 49.9 a game, and currently ranks No. 2 in the NCAA. WSU's record for scoring defense is the 55.4 points a game the Shockers gave up in 2012-13 in 34 games. A year ago, WSU gave up 59.8 points a game.

Those Harden has Passed... As stated earlier Harden needs 79 points to reach No. 1 in scoring. So far in 2014-15, Harden has passed Jennifer Kaczka's 1,557 from 1998-02, Kiki Stephens' 1,489 from 2004-08, Kim Evans' 1,488 from 1992-96, Jessica Diamond's 1,432 from 2009-13, Lisa Hodgson's 1,424 from 1980-84, Lateesha Hill's 1,385 from 1996-00, Angela Buckner's 1,382 from 2000-04, Tootie Shaw's 1,159 points from 1993-97, Ann Hollingsworth's 1,272 from 1991-95 and Haleigh Lankster's 1,366 from 2008-12.

Harden A Stat Giant... Alex Harden is the only Shocker with more than 1,440 points, 600 rebounds, 350 assists, 100 blocks and 200 steals as the best all-around statistical player in Shocker history.

Winningest Shocker... Kelsey Jacobs is the winningest Shocker in history. She 94-37 in games she has played since her career began.
Alex Harden is next at 91-34 in games she has played. She has missed just one game in four years, the Sam Houston State game, Dec. 28, due to illness.
Michelle Price is third with 85 wins in her career from 2009-14.

Stats Quickly...Alex Harden leads the team in scoring with 16.5 points a game, but five different Shockers have led WSU in scoring in 28 games with Harden leading 14 times, including five of the last six-straight.
-Jamillah Bonner is the second leading scorer with 13.1 points each a game, followed by Michaela Dapprich with 12.1 ppg. Bonner has 18 while Dapprich has 17 double-figure scoring games.

Harden's Valley-Only Numbers... In 16 Valley games, Harden is averaging 17.9 points and 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks. She's also shooting 51.6 percent from the field.

On Jody Adams...Jody Adams (Tennessee, '94) is in her seventh season at Wichita State as the only Shocker women's basketball coach to make an NCAA appearance and win an MVC regular-season and MVC Tournament championship. Her 2012-13 team accomplished all of that, then the 2013-14 team repeated the exact same feat. WSu has also clinched a part of this season's regular-season title.
She is 146-82 in six-plus seasons at WSU and 170-90 overall, which includes a 24-8 record as head coach at Murray St in 2007-08.
In addition, WSU is 88-24 (.785) overall at home under Adams, including 16-0 in 2014-15.
Adams is also first on the WSU all-time wins list. She passed Linda Hargrove, who won 113 games at WSU from 1989-98, on Fri., Feb. 21, 2014 in a win against Illinois State.

Altering Shots and More...Kelsey Jacobs has moved into fourth with 123 career blocked shots, collecting 31 this season, but the senior has also opened up her game, flirting with triple-doubles (pts/reb/asts) twice. She had 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists at Loyola and eight points, eight rebounds and eight assists against Illinois State. Both assist totals set her career-high.

Doubling Up...Four different Shockers have seven double-doubles in points and rebounds/steals this season with Michael Dapprich (21/10, EWU), Jamillah Bonner (21/10, UTA and 17/10, SHSU) and Alex Harden (14/10, Ohio St; UAPB 20/11 and IndSt 21/11 steals) and Kelsey Jacobs (Loyola 10/10).

Decker's Trey-Mania...Alie Decker has made 55 three-pointers this season to move into sixth all-time with 113 career treys at Wichita State. She's already jumped from 16th to sixth on the career list by shooting 40.4 percent (55-136) from the arc in 2014-15.

Alie Decker and Michaela Dapprich have 113 and 86 three-pointers, respectively, in their career to rank sixth and 10th, respectively.

Major Majors... Wichita State excels on the court, but also in the classroom with two Mechanical Engineering majors, one Biomedical Engineering major, two Exercise Science majors, one criminal justice major and Alex Harden, who is majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Sociology and Psychology with plans to be a doctor.

Harden Earns Back-to-Back POW Honors... Wichita State senior guard Alex Harden was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week back-to-back weeks, Feb. 16 and Feb. 23.
Harden shot 63.6 percent (19-30), averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.0 steals in WSU's two wins last week. At Illinois State she had 17 points and shot 58.3 percent (7-12) and at SIU she had 25 points and shot 66.7 percent (12-18).
The previous week, she was named the MVC and College Sports Madess Players of the week.
Harden averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and shot 60 percent (15-25) from the field to lead WSU to a 2-0 week with wins against Loyola and Bradley.
She had 20 points and seven rebounds against Loyola, and 26 points and eight rebounds against Bradley.
Harden was 5-of-9 from the field against Loyola and 10-of-16 against Bradley, and also made 9-of-9 free throws in the Loyola game.

Jacobs Named Academic All-District...Jacobs has been selected to the Capitol One CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team. The senior forward from Fortuna, Calif., carries a 4.0 as a Sport Management graduate student, and earned a 3.74 in Exercise Science when she graduated in May, 2014.

More on Harden's Steal Record...Alex Harden's 11 steals against Indiana State tied WSU's game record, which was set when April Banks had 11 on Jan. 4, 2004 at Missouri State.

Non-Conference Quickly ...WSU's last non-conference game was a 70-46 win against Sam Houston State Dec. 28 on the back of Jamillah Bonner who had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
- Prior to that, WSU won games in its own Winter Classic against ULM and had a record-setting effort against Winthrop. WSU's Alie Decker set the single-game three-point record with nine en route to a career-high 31 points, while WSU held the Eagles to 20 points, the lowest point total by an opponent in history.
-WSU was on the road prior to that, a 54-51 loss at No. 11 Tennessee Dec. 16 in Knoxville. Alex Harden led the team in scoring for the third-straight game with her 19 points.
-WSU won, 51-48, against Kansas State in Wichita Dec. 12. Alex Harden had 22 points.
-WSU had a 55-26 win against Arkansas Pine Bluff on Dec. 5. Harden had 20 points and 11 rebounds against the Golden Lions in the Schoolhouse Rocks with the Shocks in front of 10,000-plus.
- WSU fell to 0-2 on the road with the loss to No. 11 Tennessee, while the first loss was a 86-56 game at Washington State.
- The Shockers opened the season with a 65-56 win against Big East member and former Missouri Valley Conference member, Creighton, on Dec. 15, and also defeated UTA, 71-61, on Nov. 22, to go with the wins against UAPB and Kansas State.

Early Honors Quickly... Alex Harden was named the MVC and College Sports Madness Player of the Week with her 20.5 ppg average in the first two MVC games, and named again the next week for her 31 points at Missouri State.
-Alie Decker was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 21. She was also named the MVC Player of the Week and the College Basketball Madness Player of the Week.
-All-America candidate Alex Harden was named the first MVC and College Sports Madness Player of the Week for her performance against Creighton and was also named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team.
-Harden was also recently nominated for the NWBC Good Works Team.
-Jamillah Bonner had 17 points and 10 rebounds in Wichita State's lone game against Sam Houston State after Christmas. She shot 23-percent from the field (3-of-13) and 33-percent from beyond the arc (2-of-6) and made 90-percent of her free throws (9-of-10). She also added seven steals and an assist. She was also named the College Basketball Madness Player of the Week.

Chapel Takes Advantage...Sophomore guard Jaleesa Chapel got her first two career starts and took advantage of the second one with 10 points and seven rebounds against Sam Houston State. She also shot 50 percent from the field in a 5-of-10 effort. She also had an assist and two steals.

Decker's Career Week...Alie Decker averaged 20.7 points in WSU's three games the week of Dec. on 53.7 percent shooting from the field and 58.1 percent from the arc. She had 17, 14 and a career-high 31 points against Tennessee, ULM and Winthrop, respectively.
In addition, she had a WSU-record nine three pointers against Winthrop to tally 22 treys for the week, an average of seven a game. For the week she also had eight assists and seven steals and averaged 5.3 rebounds. She was also named to the all-tournament team.
Against Tennessee she had five treys while shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the arc. In her record-setting performance against Winthrop, she shot 57.9 percent from the field (11-19) and 64.3 percent from the arc (9-14).
She was named U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 21. She was also named the MVC Player of the Week and the College Basketball Madness Player of the Week.

In-Season Tournaments...Overall, WSU is now 66-79 in the 63 in-season tournaments the Shockers have played since 1974-75. In 1981-82, the Shockers played in five in-season tournaments and went 6-6. Overall, WSU has won 10 in-season tournaments.
Coach Adams is 13-8 in in-season tournaments since coming to WSU, and has won two.

Defense Sets Record, Again....Wichita State's defense held Winthrop to eight first-half points and a school-record 20 points for the game, the second time WSU has set the opponent low-game total this season. The Shockers also held Arkansas Pine Bluff to 26 points on Dec. 5.

Decker Sets Record...Alie Decker provided the fireworks offensively in the WSU Winter Classic against Winthrop with a school-record nine treys, five in the first half, which broke the record previously held by Courtney Sims against Creighton (3-3-01) and Haleigh Lankster against Loyola (12-2-09).

Winter Classic All-Tournament...Alie Decker's career-high 31 points were made on an 11-19 effort from the field and a 9-of-14 night from the arc. She may not have needed that to make the all-tournament team as she shot 45.5 percent from the field (5-11) with four treys the night before against ULM. She also had five assists and four steals against ULM in the opening game.Michaela Dapprich and Kelsey Jacobs were also named to the all-tournament team from WSU.

At Tennessee...WSU's late rally fell short as the Shockers, led by Harden's 19 points, couldn't overcome a 10-point second-half deficit at No. 11 Tennessee.
It was an emotional homecoming for WSU Head Coach Jody Adams and Assistant Coach Bridgette Gordon as the two former Lady Vols, both National Champions in their time at UT, greeted former coach Pat Summitt prior to the game.
The Shockers' Alie Decker backed Harden with 17 points, including 15 off three-pointers, as the Shockers matched the Lady Vols' 23 second half points. The three-point deficit at the half, 31-28, was the game's difference on the scoreboard. Harden put the Shockers on her back the final six minutes, scoring six of WSU's final nine points, two on a steal and breakaway layup before Kelsey Jacobs hit a three-pointer in the right corner to cut the UT lead to one, 52-51 with 25 seconds remaining.

Rockin'...Wichita State played in front of 10,087 fans, the fifth-best attendance in history, at the annual Schoolhouse Rocks with the Shocks game. WSU defeated the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions, 55-26. It was also the fifth 10,000-plus crowd in Shocker history. The Wichita State record is 10,612.

Lowest DI Point total...The 26 points scored by UAPB is the now the third lowest by a Shocker opponent in history. In 1974-75, the first year of WSU record-keeping, the Shockers defeated Sterling, 63-20, a non-Division I opponent. The 26 points is the lowest total WSU has held an opponent in Division I games.

Harden Earns Paradise All-Tournament Honors...Senior Alex Harden earned 2014 Paradise Jam All-Tournament honors with 10.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, while she shot 37.8 percent (14-37) from the field. She also had three blocks for the week and one steal. She had her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Ohio State.

Bonner Leads the Offense in Paradise...Jamillah Bonner averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists in Wichita State's three games in the Paradise Jam. Bonner had seven, 18 and 13 points, respectively, against Florida Gulf Coast, Ohio State and Clemson.
In the win against Clemson, she also had nine rebounds. For the week she shot 38.9 percent (14-36) from the field and 80percent (8-10) from the line.

Dapprich Shines vs. EWU and UTA...Michaela Dapprich averaged 18.5 points on 56 percent (14-25) shooting for Wichita State in the loss at Eastern Washington and win against UT Arlington. She was also 5-of-8 from the arc and 4-of-8 from the line.
At Washington State, she scored 21 points in 50 percent (8-16) shooting and also had 10 rebounds. Against UTA, she was 6-of-9 from the field and made both of her three-point attempts.

Harden Getting Awards...Senior guard Alex Harden was named MVC Player of the Week for Nov. 10-16. College Sports Madness also announced that Harden was named the College Sports Madness High-Major MVC Player of the Week. She was also named a WBCA Good Works Team nominee.
During the season-opening win over Creighton, Harden led all scorers with 28 points, and had six rebounds, five steals and two blocks, including a 9-of-10 performance from the free throw line. She moved into 13th-place on the all-time scoring list at Wichita State with her 28 points against the Blue Jays.

In The Exhibition...Wichita State's Jamillah Bonner scored 24 points, including 22 in the first half, and Alex Harden added 21, as Wichita State defeated the Newman Jets, 81-32, in the Shockers' lone exhibition.

Harden an All-America Candidate
After leading the Shockers to its first two NCAA appearances as a sophomore and junior, Alex Harden is vying to be one of the best players in the country. The senior has been a two-time first-team All-Valley, two-time MVC Defensive Player of the Year and two-time MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. She was also named a year ago, by CollegeSportsMadness.com as a 2013-14 High-Major All-American First Team member.
Harden, now a senior from Springfield, Ill., led the Shockers in scoring in 2013-14 at 17.0 points a game, while pulling down 5.7 rebounds and handing out 4.9 assists a game. She also collected a team-high 76 steals on the season to go along with 40 blocks.
Harden scored 562 points as a junior, which is the third best single-season point mark in Shocker history and her 1,147 career-points are already 14th in the Wichita State record book.

On The Backboards...In 2014-15, WSU has been out-boarded 11 times, tied four times, been ahead 13 times and is 13-0 when leading the glass.
The Shockers were 15-1 in 2012-13 when out-rebounding their opponent and were 17-1 in 2013-14.

The 50s...WSU is 21-2 when holding a team to 59 or less points, and 24-3 when holding an opponent to less than 69 points.
In 2013-14 the Shockers were 16-0 when holding their opponents to 55 points or less and were 14-3 in those contests in the 2012-13 season. The Shockers were only 5-5 when the opponent scored 63 or more. Wichita St. held 19 opponents below 60 points in 2011-12 and went 15-4 in those games.

- Jody Adams is 0-3 as a head coach in the NCAA Tournament. Prior to last two year's tournament berths, she took Murray State in 2008, where the 14-seed Racers lost to the 3-seed Duke, 78-57, in College Park, Maryland.

Shocker head coach Jody Adams is one of only 22 current head coaches in NCAA Division I who have both played and coached in the NCAA Tournament. Only Adams, Kim Mulkey (Baylor), MaChelle Joseph (Georgia Tech), Nikki Caldwell (LSU), Dawn Staley (South Carolina), Katie Abrahamson-Henderson (Albany), Amanda Butler (Florida), Terri Williams-Flournoy (Auburn), Courtney Banghart (Princeton), Michelle Clark-Heard (Western Kentucky), Joanne P. 2013-14 Review
- The Wichita State women's basketball team (26-7, 14-4 MVC) made its second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The 14-seed Shockers faced the 3-seed Penn State and lost, 62-56.

- The Wichita State defense was one of the best in the nation, as the Shockers were ranked 18th in scoring defense (57.3), 7th in turnover margin (6.5), 41st in blocked shots per game (4.4) and 21st in steals per game (10.0).

- Wichita State won its second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title, defeating Drake 73-49 on Sun., March 16 in St. Charles, Mo. The Shockers defeated Missouri State and Illinois State to reach the finals and won by an average of 19.3 points in the three games.

- Alex Harden, Jamillah Bonner, and Michelle Price were named to the MVC All-Tournament team, with Harden being named the MVP for the second year in a row.

- Wichita State defeated Missouri State 93-56 on Sunday inside Charles Koch Arena. With its 14th home win of the season, Wichita State also tied the school record for most home wins in a season, which was set by the 2009-10 team.

- For the second-straight season, Alex Harden was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year. It is the first time in school history and third time in Valley history a player has been given the award in back-to-back years.

- Jamillah Bonner, Alex Harden and Michelle Price were each named to the MVC All-Conference First Team. It is first time since 1999-00 and only the second time in school history that three Shockers landed on the MVC First Team.

- Jamillah Bonner, Alex Harden and Michelle Price were each named to the MVC All-Defensive Team. It is also only the second time in Valley history three players from one school made the all-defensive team.

- Wichita State has now had at least one player on the MVC All-Conference Team and All-Defensive Team in each of the past four seasons, which is the first time that has happened in school history.

The Shockers took down Drake 73-49 on Sun., Mar. 16, 2014 to capture their second-consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship. Wichita State led from the beginning, out-scoring the Bulldogs in the paint 32-24 and scoring 21 points off 22 Drake turnovers. The Shockers shot 31-for-64 (.484) from the field to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament. Alex Harden and Jamillah Bonner each scored 21 points, while Michelle Price added 11 points and nine rebounds. The trio was selected to the MVC All-Tournament team with Harden being named the tournament's most outstanding player. Alie Decker also capped a solid tournament with 12 points and a career-high eight rebounds.

In the NCAA Tournament
- Wichita State made its second appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
- In the program's first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012-13, the Shockers fell in the first round to Texas A&M 71-45.
- Bradley and Indiana St. are the only current MVC schools without a visit to the NCAA Tournament. Missouri State (13) has represented the league most often.

MVP
For the second consecutive year, Alex Harden was named the MVP of the MVC Tournament. Over three games, the junior averaged 18.7 points a game, including 21 points in the final against Drake. Harden shot 25-for-54 (.463) from the field while averaging 7.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists. She also collected nine steals, four blocks and played 35.7 minutes a game.

Final Game of 2013-14
Wichita State lost at Penn State, 62-56, on March 23, 2014 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament inside the Bryce Jordan Center. It was the Shockers' second-of-two-straight NCAA appearances, the first in school history. In 2012-13, WSU lost at Texas A&M, 71-45, in first round action in College Station, Texas.
