Men's Results |
Women's ResultsSidney Hirsch led the women's team with a 78th-place finish in the 6K race, while
Ugis Jocis led the men with a 139th-place finish in the 8K race. The races were run in approximately 45 degree weather and calm winds.
"In the men's race I was mostly pleased with how we raced," said Head Coach
Kirk Hunter. "Brady had a rough day, though, which really hurt us. He said he didn't feel right from the start. We would have placed in a range that was more respectable, had he not been a minute slower than last time. I was pleased with how Ugis (Jocis) and Gage (Garcia) ran, and the rest of the team stayed consistent. When Brady gets back we will be a contender in two weeks at the Valley meet, but right now Bradley is the favorite on the men's side."
Jocis ran the 8K in 24:33.3 to lead the Shockers, while
Paul Raymond finished 166th with a time of 24:43.6.
Kyle Larkin was 172nd with a time of 24:45.4 with Garge Garcia 180th in a time of 24:47.2. Johnson was 193rd with a time of 24:52.0.
"
Sidney Hirsch and
Emilea Finley ran well and I was very happy with how the women's team ran," Hunter said. "Lycia (Hollon) and Kayla (Deighan) also ran well.
Rebekah Topham can be up front with Sidney, but she has been battling a nagging leg injury from practice last week. We will need to have Rebekah to have a chance to do well in two weeks at the conference meet. Bradley ran really well today."
Hirsch's time of 21:01.0 was her second-best career 6K time, while
Emilea Finley's time of 21:20.2 (132nd) was her career-best.
Lycia Hollon ran a time of 21.43.1 to finsih 197th and
Rebekah Topham was 214th with a time of 21:47.7.
Kayla Deighan ran 21:47.7 to finish 215th.
