ST. LOUIS, Mo. --  Wichita State's Sidney Hirsch, a sophomore from Omaha, Neb. was named the Missouri Valley Conference Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. Hirsch ran the women's 4K in 13:55.58 as the top Shocker women's finisher, and third overall. Her finish led Wichita State to the team title of the 66th J.K. Gold Classic in nearby Augusta, Kan., at the challenging RAFT Course.
Hirsch cut time off her 4K time of 14:15.01 at the 2013 JK Gold Classic to set a personal best in 2014.
