WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State men's tennis team grabbed
their first two wins of the season on Sunday at Genesis Health Club, beating
both Cowley and Bethany, 7-0.
In doubles play, the Croatian duo of Ilija Cuic and Tomislav
Gregurovic defeated Jack Busby and Joshua Coleman of Cowley, 8-6, and Michiel
Van Den Bogaert and Shane Huggins of Bethany, 8-0. Matheus Pereira and Tin
Ostojic also won their two doubles contests on the day.
In singles play, the Shockers did not drop a set on the day.
Cuic, a junior from Zagreb, Croatia, gathered his
first singles victories as a Shocker, defeating Edgardo Tapia of Cowley, 6-1,
6-3, and Van Den Bogaert of Bethany, 6-1, 6-2.
The Shocker men are back in action on Saturday, February 9
when they travel to Lubbock, Texas for a match against Texas Tech at 10 a.m. The
next day they will face Lamar, also at 10 a.m.
