Omaha, Neb. - The Wichita State University women's basketball team lost for just the second in conference play, taking a 56-46 defeat at Creighton Sunday afternoon.

Michelle Price was the only Shocker in double figures with 15 points.  She also led the team with seven rebounds, including four on the offensive end.  Alexis Akin-Otiko led the Bluejays with 13 points and eight boards.

Creighton used a 10-0 run over the final 2:22 of the first half and first minute of the second half to take a 32-25 lead.  The advantage expanded to 12 after a Jordan Garrison three-pointer with 14:23 remaining.

WSU then made one of its few sustained runs.  Price scored seven of Wichita State's nine points in a 9-0 charge that spanned just over four minutes.  A breakaway layup from the junior pulled the Shockers within 41-38 at the midpoint of the second half.

Akin-Otiko took over for Creighton after that, scoring seven of her 13 points down the stretch.  The Shockers were never closer than eight over the final 5:43 of the game.

Creighton out-rebounded WSU 33-23, including 21-8 in the second half.  The Shockers forced 22 turnovers and committed just 12.  Jessica Diamond and Alex Harden, WSU's two top scorers, combined for nine points on 4-of-18 shooting.

Wichita State's losing streak in Omaha reached 12 games with Saturday's defeat.  The two spit this year's series with WSU winning 67-45 at Koch Arena last month.  The Shockers still lead Creighton by a game in the conference standings with five games left in the regular seasons.

The Shockers return home for the final home stand of the year Thursday and Saturday, against Evansville and Southern Illinois.  Tipoff for both games is 7:05 p.m.
