WICHITA, Kan. -
Wisconsin-Green Bay shot 78 percent in the second half of Saturday afternoon's
game against Wichita State en route to a 63-42 victory, snapping the Shockers' three-game winning streak in Charles Koch Arena.
The hot shooting Phoenix blew open a seven point halftime
lead by opening the second half connecting on their first five field goal
attempts. A pair of free throws from WSU's Michelle Price with 9:48 remaining
in the second half got the Shockers within to within 10 points, 46-36, before
Wisconsin-Green Bay went on a game-clinching 13-0 run over a seven minute span.
Jessica Diamond led Wichita State with 15 points on 6-of-10
shooting but was the only Shocker to reach double figures. Darice Fountaine
added nine points on three 3-pointers.
Sarah Eichler matched Diamond's game-high 15 points on
5-of-6 shooting including 3-for-3 from long distance. Lydia Bauer added 11.
The Shockers will begin Missouri Valley Conference play on
Thu., Jan. 3 at home against rival Missouri State. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m.
