- The Wichita State Shockers were defeated by the No. 31 Nebraska Cornhuskers,
6-1 on Saturday morning at the Nebraska Tennis Center.
Nebraska
won the doubles point after Calin Paar and Robert Schultze defeated Wichita
State's Adrian Chermaci and Guillermo Nicol, 8-3. Matheus Pereira and David Cavalcanti continued their strong
doubles play improving their record to 14-2 on the season after they defeated
Andre Stenger and Sebastian Florczyk, 8-7.
Cavalcanti
carried his success over to singles as he picked up the Shockers lone victory
over No. 123 Benedikt Lindheim, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. Shockers freshman Juan Estensorro fought hard in his match but
fell to Robert Schulz, 6-7, 6-1, 10-7.
Next
action for the Shockers will be Wednesday, March 16 when they travel to take on
the Arkansas Razorbacks.
