The Wichita State women's basketball team volunteered at Saturday's record-breaking Komen Wichita Race for the Cure. The annual race raises significant funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which pays for cancer research and screening for those who cannot afford it.
This year's event reportedly pulled in more than 10,000 participants, setting a new record, and generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Shockers joined Wichita State University President Donald Beggs and his wife Shirley, who proudly donned a pink t-shirt signifying her as a cancer survivor.
