McKeever Delivers in 10th for 7-6 WSU Win 5/18/2010 11:43:00 PM By: Wichita State Box Score WICHITA, Kan. - Clint McKeever's pinch-hit single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave Wichita State (35-18) a 7-6 win over Oral Roberts (29-24) on Tuesday night at Eck Stadium. Cody Lassley led the Shocker offense, going 2 for 4 with two RBI, while Grant Muncrief earned his second win of the season in relief. ORU got on the board first in the second inning, but the Shockers answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie the score at one. The Golden Eagles used a leadoff double in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead, but the Shockers again answered in the bottom half of the inning. Bret Bascue was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a one-out single by Tyler Grimes. Will Baez drove in Bascue with a single, Ryan Jones drove in Grimes and Lassley drove in Baez to give the Shocks a 4-2 lead. The Shockers tacked on another run in the fifth inning. Johnny Coy and Travis Bennett led off the inning with back-to-back singles and Bascue walked to load the bases. Chris O'Brien grounded out to first to drive in the run for a 5-2 lead. ORU used the long ball in the seventh inning to take the lead. Tyler Saladino hit a two-run home run to left field to cut the lead to 5-4 and P.J. Sequeira hit a two-run home run to left to give ORU a 6-5 lead. The Shockers tied the game at six with a run in the eighth. Baez drew a one-out walk and advanced to third on a single up the middle by Jones. Baez scored on a sacrifice fly from Lassley. O'Brien led off the 10th with a single through the left side before being lifted for pinch runner Nate Goro. A sacrifice bunt by Grimes followed by a walk set the stage for McKeever's game-winning single up the middle.
