WICHITA - The Shocker men's tennis team continued to roll through its weekend, defeating the Washburn Ichabods on Saturday, 6-1.
Working with a slightly different lineup in doubles action, the Shocks swept the doubles point to open up the match with a 1-0 lead.

Adrian Chermaci made quick work of Yann Kasay and Emmanuel Laurent in the No. 3 spot, winning 8-1. The freshman dynamite duo of
Valentin Mihai and
Matheus Pereira knocked off Branden Joost and Adam Rens, 8-5.
In singles action, the Shockers surrendered just one match to a resilient Ichabod squad who did its best to fight off the Shockers. Marinescu needed the super tiebreaker to take care of Joost in the No. 2 match, 4-6, 6-2, 10-3. Playing at the No. 3 position, Mihai fell in straight sets to Blondin, 6-4, 6-3.
It was all Shockers for the rest of the afternoon, however. Kasper had no trouble against Ward at the top of the lineup, winning 6-2, 6-2. Pereira did the same in the No. 5 match, toppling Rens, 6-3, 6-3. Obrist cruised in the No. 6 spot when he defeated Kasay, 6-3, 6-2.

Adrian Chermaci moved to 8-0 in singles action, keeping his undefeated streak alive against Laurent, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 4 spot.
The Shockers are in action again when they play host to Illinois-Chicago on Saturday, Mar. 6.
