Indiana State tied the game with solo home runs in the second and the fourth off Shocker starter Jordan Cooper (6-5).

Indiana State got three singles in the eighth to tie the game at 3-3, chasing Cooper from the contest. The starter worked 7.1 innings, scattering 10 hits with no walks and five strikeouts in 102 pitches. Cooper was charged with five earned runs in the losing effort.

The Sycamores then broke the game open with five more hits, as the Shocker bullpen allowed three runs after Cooper was chased from the game.

Indiana State's six-run eighth proved to be the difference, as the Shockers couldn't produce a big rally late. WSU posted four errors in the ninth allowing the Sycamores to score an unearned run to add to the lead.
