3/17/2026 8:30:00 PM

WICHITA, Kan. — After two more wins last week, the Wichita State women's tennis team moved up to No. 27 in Tuesday's Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

The Shockers beat Arkansas State 4-0 on Thursday before dominating No. 62 Long Beach State 6-1 on Friday. The win over Long Beach State was the second ranked victory of the season for Wichita State.

The No. 27 ranking is the second-highest of the season for Wichita State, trailing only its No. 24 ranking on Feb. 24. The Shockers have spent five weeks ranked in the top 40.

The Shockers are the highest-ranked team in the American Conference, ahead of Charlotte (No. 34) and Rice (No. 54).

Wichita State has wins over six teams — SMU, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Rice and Long Beach State — that appear in this week's ITA rankings.

Additionally, the duo of Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli is ranked No. 17 in doubles and Theodora Chantava is ranked No. 124 in singles.

The Shockers return to action Friday, March 27, when they host South Florida.
