3/17/2026 11:34:00 AM

HARAHAN, La. -- Wichita State enters the 2026 Conference USA Women's Bowling Championship at Colonial Lanes as the #6 seed in the 12-team field. The Shockers will take on #7-seed Youngstown State on Wednesday, March 18 beginning at 1 pm CT, with live streaming of the event available on ESPN+.

The double-elimination tournament begins on Wednesday, March 18 and runs through either Saturday, March 22 or Sunday, March 23 (if necessary) when a champion is crowned. The winner of the tournament receives the CUSA's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship.

The Shockers are the defending CUSA champions, winning seven consecutive matches last March after dropping their first round match against Arkansas State.

The full seeding list, which is based on the latest RPI rankings, is below:

#1 - Jacksonville State
#2 - Vanderbilt
#3 - Arkansas State
#4 - Nebraska
#5 - Louisiana Tech
#6 - Wichita State
#7 - Youngstown State
#8 - Sam Houston
#9 - Sacred Heart
#10 - Wright State
#11 - Tulane
#12 - Valparaiso

The tournament is structured in a best-of-three match format. Teams will bowl one traditional five-person match for total pinfall, then five Baker games for total pinfall. If one team wins both the traditional match and Baker match, they advance. If the two teams split the standard and Baker matches, they will move on to a best-of-seven series of Baker games. If necessary, the second championship match on Sunday will be Baker Best-of-Seven match play only.
  • Match 1: Traditional Total Pinfall
  • Match 2: Baker Total Pinfall
  • Match 3: Baker Best-of-Seven Match play (if necessary)
The Shockers ended the regular season with a 73-31 overall record, including wins at the Track Kat Klash and Big Red Invite. Wichita State was voted #5 in the latest NTCA poll announced on Monday.
