WACO, Texas — Ava Sliger tossed a complete-game shutout as Wichita State defeated New Mexico 1-0 on Sunday in the final game of the Getterman Classic.

The game featured little offense early, as neither team had a runner reach third base safely through the first four innings.
Ausha Moore broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single that scored
Jodie Epperson, giving the Shockers a 1-0 lead.
Sliger continued to dominate, retiring the Lobos in order in both the sixth and seventh innings to secure the shutout.
Sliger (1-0) allowed just a lone first-inning hit, walking one and a pair of strikeouts.
Moore was the only Shocker with more than one hit, finishing 2-for-3 with the game's lone RBI.
