Recap: The second-seeded AfterShocks opened The Basketball Tournament by methodically wearing down seventh-seeded No Excuses. Â A third-quarter burst put the game away at Koch Arena.
Kelly turned in his typical well-round game with 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Conner Frankamp led the AfterShocks with four assists and added eight points and five rebounds in 19 minutes. He made 2 of 4 three-pointers.
The AfterShocks outscored No Excuses, a Houston-based team, 23-10 in the third by making 6 of 9 shots and 3 of 5 three-pointers. Leyton Hammonds scored all seven of his points in the quarter.
