Recap: The second-seeded AfterShocks opened The Basketball Tournament by methodically wearing down seventh-seeded No Excuses.  A third-quarter burst put the game away at Koch Arena.

Kelly turned in his typical well-round game with 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Conner Frankamp led the AfterShocks with four assists and added eight points and five rebounds in 19 minutes. He made 2 of 4 three-pointers.

The AfterShocks outscored No Excuses, a Houston-based team, 23-10 in the third by making 6 of 9 shots and 3 of 5 three-pointers. Leyton Hammonds scored all seven of his points in the quarter.

While the AfterShocks shot 41.9 percent from the field, they held No Excuses to 30.1 percent. The AfterShocks outscored No Excuses by eight points at the line.
