TULSA, Okla. – Wichita State's search for a conference sweep continues following a 5-2 loss at Tulsa in the series finale Friday afternoon.
Wichita State (23-21-1, 11-9-1) recorded its fifth straight series win, but has yet to record a sweep.
The Shocker bats managed just four hits in the game, three of those coming in the first inning.
Camryn Compton drove in both runs on her 10th home run of the season.
Ryley Nihart (7-5) went the distance in the circle, allowing five runs on eight hits and five walks.
For the third straight game Wichita State put runs on the board in its first plate appearance. With two outs,
Taylor Sedlacek doubled and Compton immediately sent the first pitch of the next at-bat off the scoreboard in left-center to give the Shockers a 2-0 lead.
Tulsa came right back in the home half of the first with a pair of home runs to grab a 3-2 lead.
After three scoreless innings, Tulsa added a run to its lead on a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
The Hurricane would add a final run in the sixth on a bases loaded RBI groundout.
