WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State Athletics has added new fan experience elements to Wilkins Stadium this season including outfield general admission bleacher seating and a new videoboard in left centerfield.
 
"We are thrilled to enhance the gameday experience for our student-athletes and Shocker Nation with these exciting upgrades," said Wichita State Deputy AD Madison Stein-Mason. "The growing support for Shocker Softball has driven these improvements, allowing more fans to be part of the action while elevating a program on the rise. As we eagerly anticipate further enhancements through the Wilkins Stadium Project, the commitment to investing in softball remains steadfast because we believe in its importance and its bright future at Wichita State."
 
WSU has partnered with Playfly Sports to provide a new state of the art LED video display that measures approximately 10 feet high by 17 feet wide. It features the ability to show a variety of video, real-time statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and partnership messages.
 
The outfield bleachers will add 250 seats to the capacity of Wilkins Stadium. They will be available on a single game basis for the remainder of the 2025 season. Pricing starts at $12 and tickets can be purchased online at GoShockers.com or by visiting the Shocker Ticket Office. Fans who purchase will have access to Wilkins Stadium concourse amenities.
  
In the Fall of 1982, devout art philanthropist Gladys H.G. Wiedemann gifted unsolicited funds toward the purchase of these bleachers, which were the original set of bleachers for Wichita State Baseball. They remained in left field at Eck Stadium until 2025 when they were moved to Wilkins Stadium to bring additional seating opportunities.
