Madison Stein-Mason

Madison Stein-Mason joined Wichita State Athletics in July 2023 as the Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator. In May 2024, she was named the Deputy Athletic Director of External Affairs & Revenue Generation. In this role she is responsible for the oversight of the Shockers External Division including strategic communications, marketing & fan engagement, creative services, ticket sales & service, development and multi-media rights. She also assists in the oversight and implementation of the department’s NIL efforts.
 
She comes to Wichita State after serving two years at Arkansas State as the Associate Athletics Director for Administration & Development. At Arkansas State, Stein-Mason was an Executive Team member where she collaborated with the Vice Chancellor of Intercollegiate Athletics on goals and objectives for the department and was responsible for driving and executing cross-functional engagement to achieve benchmarks. Her duties also included day-to-day oversight of the Red Wolves Foundation, donor experience, hospitality and the department’s RevelXP partnership. She participated in several special projects and committees with both the ASU System Office and University and was instrumental in the hiring and onboarding of the current Arkansas State VCIA, Jeff Purinton. Under her leadership, the Red Wolves Foundation significantly modernized their efforts yielding increased revenue and donor participation.
 
Prior to Arkansas State, Stein-Mason spent six years at the University of Oklahoma in multiple positions, with her last role directing the Varsity ‘O’ Association and the overall revenue generation efforts for letterwinner support.

A former four-year softball letterwinner at the University of Kansas, Stein-Mason began her time in Norman as a graduate assistant for athletics administration. In 2018, she became the Assistant Director of Varsity ‘O’ and was elevated to Associate Director in 2020. Her diverse experience at Oklahoma saw her cultivate a major gift portfolio as well as coordinate seating arrangements while serving on the Sooner Club’s leadership team. She was also highly active in the athletics department as a member of the department’s staff council as well as providing leadership assistance to the Athletic Director’s Captain’s Roundtable and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Working closely with various constituents, she created and oversaw the Sooners for Life Scholarship Program – a program dedicated to assisting former student-athletes complete their degree and/or pursue additional educational opportunities.
 
The Oklahoma City, Okla., native earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of Kansas and was a Big 12 Conference postgraduate scholarship recipient and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was a two-time team captain for the Jayhawks’ softball team and ranks in several Top-5 single-season and career record categories. A Big 12 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee, Stein-Mason served as one of the first student-athletes to participate in the NCAA’s Autonomy Governance Structure.
 
In her spare time Stein-Mason enjoys traveling with her husband, Jacob, and spending time outside with their family, friends, and three doodle dogs.
