WICHITA, Kan. – After three straight heartbreaking losses, the Wichita State men's tennis team got over the hump with a triumphant 5-2 win over the Denver Pioneers on Sunday afternoon at Genesis Rock Road.

The win snapped Wichita State's three-match long losing streak and they sit at 3-5 on the season. Denver dropped to 6-5 on the year with the loss.

In doubles, it was the Pioneers taking the early lead, jumping on the Shockers with wins at the top two courts to take the opening point.

In singles, Alejandro Jacome kicked things off with a win for the Shockers, taking victory at court three, 6-4, 6-2 to tie the match at 1-1.

Soon after, the Pioneers retook the lead with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Kristof Minarik at line one.

WSU's Ilias Worthington quickly tied the match back up with a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win at court four, his third consecutive win in singles.

Tied 2-2 in the match, Amir Milushev pulled out a gritty 7-5, 6-4 win at court five to put the Shockers in front, 3-2.
