TEMPE, Ariz. – After a year where they went 13-10, reached a ranking as high as No. 55, and took down their highest ranked opponent since 2021, the Wichita State women's tennis team was ranked eighth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region rankings on Friday afternoon.

The eighth ranking for the Shockers is their highest regional ranking since the 2018 season, when they were ranked fourth.

In the ITA's top-75 poll, the Shockers reached as high as No. 55, and were ranked in six of the year's in-season polls. The team also won their first game at the American Athletic Conference Tournament since 2019 with a 4-0 win over rival Tulsa on April 18.

In the Central Region, the Shockers are ranked one spot behind Iowa, one ahead of Nebraska, and two ahead of Tulsa. Memphis is the top ranked AAC team in the Central Region at No. 4.
