IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Shocker men's golf team concluded their final regular season tournament of the 2024 campaign on Sunday afternoon at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Shockers finished in 13th place in Iowa among another strong tournament field. The Shockers finished with a team score of 865, 13 strokes over-par. The Wisconsin Badgers won the team trophy at 12 strokes under-par and the Badger's Cameron held on to win the individual title by two strokes with a score of 201, 12 strokes under-par.

In the opening round, the Shockers compiled what would end up being their best round of the tournament, shooting 283 as a team and moving into a four-way tie for sixth place.
Blake Lorenz led the Shockers with a two-under round, followed close behind by
Zach Sokolosky at one-under.

Round two was largely not kind to the Shockers as a team, as the Shockers stumbled into a tie for 11th by the time the second round concluded. Lorenz showed promise, climbing into a tie for third midway through the round, but some late bogeys bumped him into ninth place with one round left to play.

The Shockers showed marginal improvement in round three, finishing with a team score of 288, but the Shockers fell two more spots on the leaderboard, finishing in 13th place in the tournament.Â

Lorenz once again rose into the top-five after recording a birdie on each of his first two holes, but three bogeys shortly after would relegate him out of the top-ten and the Shocker senior ended up finishing in 21st for the tournament with an even-par score.
