LINCOLN, Neb. – No. 14 Missouri scored multiple runs in three different innings to defeat Wichita State, 8-2, in the final game of the Big Red Invitational Sunday afternoon.

Wichita State (9-5) went 2-2 over the weekend, sweeping both games vs. the host Huskers. The Shockers are 2-5 this season against ranked teams.

Chloe Barber (4-1) suffered her first loss in the circle. She allowed six runs on six hits and six walks in 5.2 innings.

The Shockers managed just four hits in the game.

Two batters into the game Missouri found itself on the scoreboard. After a leadoff hit by pitch, Missouri's Alex Honnold sent the first pitch of the at bat over the wall to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Back-to-back doubles with two outs made it 3-0 after the top of the first.

Krystin Nelson and Lainee Brown supplied the only offense with a solo home run each.

The Tigers added three in the sixth on a sac fly and two-run single after loading the bases with no outs. A two-run double in the top of the seventh made it 8-1.
