WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State recorded two wins, 10-2 and 8-0, on Friday over UTSA, both in run-rule fashion, to open the weekend series at Wilkins Stadium.
Wichita State (15-10, 6-2) has won five straight games and clinches its second conference series of the season.
Game 1 | UTSA 2, Wichita State 10 (5 innings)
CC Wong continued her torrid stretch at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.

Taylor Sedlacek,
Lainee Brown and
Caroline Tallent added a hit and an RBI each.
Alex Aguilar threw a complete game, allowing only one earned run on six hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
With two down in the bottom of the second, Wichita State started a two-out rally at the bottom of the order. Back-to-back singles from Garcia and Nelson set up a run-producing scenario for Wong. She would deliver. Wong smoked a single back up the middle to bring Garcia home from second.
In the bottom of the third, Wichita State blew it wide open behind an eight-run frame. Brown started the scoring onslaught with an RBI single. An RBI double from Tallent and an RBI Garcia made it 4-0. A two-out, three-run blast from Wong put the Shockers up a touchdown. After an
Addison Barnard walk, a run came in on a UTSA error and then the final Shocker scored on Sedlacek's double.
Wichita State tacked on its final run in the fourth on Nelson's single through the right side.
UTSA broke up the shutout in the top of the fifth on a fielder's choice and fielding error.
Game 2 | UTSA 0, Wichita State 8 (5 innings)
Addison Barnard went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.
Taylor Sedlacek singled twice to go with an RBI.

Wichita State gave Barber some early run support, putting up three in the bottom of the first. RBI singles from Sedlacek and Brown and an RBI double from Tallent had the Shockers up 3-0 after one inning.
The Shockers made it 4-0 in the second on an RBI groundout from
CC Wong.
Four runs in the bottom of the fourth put the mercy rule in effect. The inning started with a
Sydney Zenon leadoff walk. She advanced to second on a wild pitch and then came around to score on Nelson's double down the left field line.
Sac flies from Urban and Brown sandwiched a Sedlacek RBI single off the wall in right to cap the inning.
