Under first year head coach Vann Stuedeman, UTSA is 9-21 to start the 2024 campaign and 1-5 in its first season of American Athletic Conference play. SERIES HISTORY
A series that started back in 2000 has largely been dominated by Wichita State. In eight all-time meetings, Wichita State is 7-1 vs. the Roadrunners. After the Shockers won the first five matchups, UTSA picked up its lone win in the series on Feb. 15, 2020 in San Marcos, Texas at the Bobcat Classic. The two teams met one year later in Stillwater at the Mizuno Classic and the Shockers won both times in low scoring games.

LAST MEETING VS. THE ROADRUNNERS
Wichita State defeated UTSA twice at the 2021 Mizuno Classic in Stillwater, Okla. The Shockers won 4-2 and 3-1, finishing the Mizuno Classic with a 4-1 record. In the 4-2 win, Neleigh Herring was 3-for-3 and Madison Perrigan belted a two-run home run. Erin McDonald struck out eight in 4.2 innings to record the win. The next day, Wichita State scratched out a 3-1 victory behind a complete game, 10-strikeout performance from Bailey Lange in the circle.

LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State recorded its first conference series sweep of the season last weekend at East Carolina, beating the Pirates: 4-1, 6-5 and 9-1 (5). Taylor Sedlacek broke out of a slump in a big way. The sophomore hit .750 (6-for-8) with three home runs, nine RBI and scored five times. She hit a grand slam in the first inning of game one and a three-run homer in the first inning of game two to set the tone early. CC Wong was 5-for-10 with three doubles in the series. Alex Aguilar struck out six in 6.0 innings in the opening night win, allowing just one run. Lauren Howell had her best outing of the season in the finale, tossing a complete game. She tied a career high with seven strikeouts and allowed just one run on three hits. Chloe Barber recorded a pair of saves out of the bullpen. Wichita State's run-rule victory on Sunday was just the second win of the season via mercy rule. The Shockers have dominated the series with East Carolina, winning 10 in a row, and own a 16-3 record vs. the Pirates since joining the American.
