CANCUN, Mexico – The Shocker men's golf team earned a fourth-place finish in their first spring tournament of the season with two Shockers finishing in the tournament top-10.
The Shockers finished in fourth, ending with a team score of 902 and 38 strokes over par. The team ended fourteen strokes out of second place, three strokes ahead of fifth, and 33 strokes behind the champion, VCU.

Starting the tournament on hole ten, the Shockers had some early bogey trouble, finishing +16 on the back half, but the Shockers were able to bounce back on the front nine later in the day, carding an improved +9 to finish +25 for the day and tied for fifth.

Michael Winslow found himself tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard after back-to-back birdies on holes seven and eight.

On day three, the Shockers picked up right where they left off, continuing to find success. Winslow finished four-under across his final six holes to finish tied for fifth for the tournament, his highest finish in his Shocker career. His 218 score for the tournament ties his season low.

Lorenz breached into the top-10 thanks to a terrific four-under performance on the front-nine in the final round, giving him his third top-20 performance in a tournament this season and second top-10.

Zach Sokolosky's up-and-down day was highlighted by an eagle on hole five, his second of the season.
