Easterling Signs Junior College Standout Lamas

12/23/2024 1:00:00 PM

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State head men's golf coach Judd Easterling announced the final addition to his 2025 signing class on Monday afternoon with the signing of Emilio Arellano Lamas.

Lamas will come to Wichita State after playing for two seasons at Indian Hills Community College, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Lamas will become the fourth Warrior in the last year to sign with Wichita State, joining Jose Carletta, Jose Miguel Ramirez, and Mitch Revie who joined Wichita State in the fall of 2024 and who were all major contributors for the Shockers in their first semester of NCAA Division I competition.

In the 2024 fall season, Lamas posted three rounds in the 60s and finished in the individual top 20 in four of five tournaments.  This includes an individual win in the Warrior's season-opening tournament at the Blue River Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he posted a line of 68-70-68--206 to take the individual title.

Lamas and Indian Hills competed in Wichita State's home tournament, the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational back in October, where Lamas led the Warriors on the leaderboard with a 16th-place finish.

The Aguascalientes, Mexico native will be the fourth and final signee in the 2025 Wichita State men's golf recruiting class. The team roster for the 2025-26 season now sits at nine players.
