PEORIA, Ill. – Wichita State cross country travels to Peoria, Ill. to race at the NCAA Midwest Regional, Friday, Nov. 15 at Newman Golf Course.

The women will race in the 6K at 11 a.m., and the men's will race in their first 10K of the season at noon. The races will be live streamed on ESPN+ with live results available at Athletic.live.

The Shockers are coming off fourth-place men's and sixth-place women's team finishes at the American Athletic Conference Championships.
Sarah Bertry led Wichita State with an all-conference performance, placing 14
th in the 6K with a time of 21:29.8.
Yared Kidane recorded the men's top individual finish, taking 21
st in the 8K with a time of 25:00.5.

Adrian Diaz Lopez was named All-Region in 2022 with a 23
rd-place finish.

The Wichita State men reached. No. 14 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings in week one before dropping out in weeks two and three and re-entering the rankings at No. 15 in week four. The Shocker men and women both enter the regional meet unranked.

The Shocker men's best regional team finish came in 1981 when the team placed fourth with 93 points, and the 2022 Shockers recorded the next best placement, taking fifth with 184 points for the best finish in the
Kirk Hunter era.

The Wichita State women's best team finish came in 2005 when they finished fourth with 125 points, and Hunter's best group finished sixth in 2009 with 200 points.

The Shockes have claimed three individual regional victories, courtesy of Mornay Annandale in 1992, Desiraye Osburn in 2005 and Aliphine Tuliamuk in 2011.

The top 25 finishers in each NCAA regional will be named All-Region, and 31 teams per gender will be selected for the championships. 18 on each side will automatically qualify (two per region, from regional championships) while the remaining 13 for each of the men's and women's championships will be picked at large.
