SAN ANTONIO, Texas – UTSA ran past Wichita State in the fourth quarter as the Shockers dropped their second-straight conference game, 74-60, in the Convocation Center.

UTSA's Elyssa Coleman tallied 32 points and 19 rebounds as the Roadrunners (7-7, 1-2 AAC) picked up their first conference win.

UTSA opened the game on a 10-0 run as Wichita State shot 0-for-11 in the first six minutes. The Roadrunners took a 19-8 lead after the first quarter, but a spark from
Aniya Bell off the bench brought the Shockers (5-10, 1-2 AAC) within three, going into the half down 33-30.

Bell scored a career-high 16 points, shooting 3-for-6 from three to lead the Shockers in scoring, and
Daniela Abies recorded her second career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Shockers out-scored UTSA in the third quarter to bring the game within one but never claimed the lead as the Roadrunners led wire to wire.

UTSA opened the fourth quarter with a 6-0 run, but
Salese Blow hit a three to cut the deficit to four.

Coleman could not be stopped, though, in the final quarter, scoring 15 of her 32 points and collecting six rebounds, four offensive, to help the Roadunners go on an 8-0 run and gain a 14-point advantage.

The Shockers struggled to protect the ball, committing seven of their 16 turnovers in the fourth quarter as the game slipped away.

UTSA out-rebounded the Shockers 52-40 with 23 offensive rebounds, scoring 24 second-chance points.

The Shockers tied their season high for made threes with seven but shot just .356 from the field.

Wichita State returns home to face Temple on Tuesday, Jan. 9 in Charles Koch Arena.
