WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State head men's golf coach
Judd Easterling announced the addition of Salina native
Cole Elmore to the team's coaching staff as an assistant coach on Monday afternoon.
Â
"I'm super excited to bring Cole on as an assistant coach for this program," Easterling said. "He's going to come in ready to go with a great ability to mesh with the guys and be a leader quickly."
Â
Elmore comes to Wichita State after being a graduate assistant for one year at North Central College, an NCAA Division III school in Naperville, Ill.Â
Â
Elmore also played golf collegiately at Lewis University, an NCAA Division II program in Chicago, Ill. During his time Lewis, Elmore was hoisted into an interim head coaching role while still competing as a player his senior year. He worked with the Lewis University athletic director to maintain the program throughout the 2021-22 season, gaining himself valuable coaching experience.
Â
"Cole is a super organized young man with a great ability to pay attention to little details. His prior experience coaching will make him a great guy for the younger guys to lean on, learn from, and he'll be a great resource as a coach," Easterling said. "I'm really super excited to have him here as a part of our program."
Â
Elmore is a native of Salina, Kan., and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 2018.
