WICHITA, Kan. -- The American Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that Wichita State's Blake Lorenz has been named to the AAC All-Conference Team.

Lorenz becomes the 105th all-conference honoree in the history of the WSU men's golf program, and the second since joining the American Athletic Conference (Marcus Wochner, 2021). Lorenz put together a remarkably consistent season at the top of the Wichita State lineup, recording WSU's best individual finish in seven of ten tournaments and each of the last five spring competitions. The junior led the Shockers with 98 birdies and a 72.00 stroke average, shooting 78 or better in every round this season.

Lorenz turned in his best stretch of the year from late-March to mid-April, composing a run of 11 consecutive rounds at 73 or better. That run was highlighted by two top-five finishes, tying for third at the Missouri State Intercollegiate on March 20-21 and then repeating the feat at the Hawkeye Invitational April 14-15. His opening round 66 in Iowa City was the best individual round by a Shocker during the 2022-23 season, one of four sub-70 rounds on the campaign for Lorenz.

The Phoenix native was the lone Shocker to log two top-five finishes, and led the squad with five in the top 20.
