PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The Shocker men's golf team finished in 9th place at the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational at Ocean Club Golf Course located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The Shockers put together a team score of 866 with rounds of 295, 283, and 288, two strokes over par. Host Santa Clara grabbed the team crown at 45-under par. Gareth Steyn of Georgia State won the tournament's individual title at -15.
The Shockers battled tough weather conditions throughout round one and no Shocker could into any kind of rhythm, getting the Shockers off to a slow start in the Bahamas.

The Shockers put together a much-improved performance on day two, finishing-5 for the day and compiling 21 birdies, but the Shockers remained in a hole heading into the final day of play.
Sokolosky and Castillo both recorded two-under rounds to lead the Shockers on the day.
Herrenbruck was on pace for a big day, but a pair of bogeys and a double bogey across his final five holes knocked him down to even for the round.

Day three was another one of struggle for the Shockers as they could never get going on the final day of play.
Sokolosky was top Shocker in this tournament, finishing tied for 27th on the individual leaderboard at two-under. Castillo was close behind at -1 and tied for 31st. He recorded the only two Shocker eagles in the tournament.

This was the final event for the Shockers of the fall season. They will begin the spring season on February 5 in Cancun, Mexico, where they will compete in the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate.
