Cessna Stadium is the site for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship this weekend and we talk to Wichita State sprinter Paula Garcia and multi-athlete Maria Romero about home-court advantage and the best events to watch.

We also talk about the pipeline from Spain to Wichita that has produced several standouts, the differences between athletics in Europe and the United States and their advice for young athletes. We discuss their majors, Romero's participation in the Widener Global Leaders Program and Garcia's book recommendations.

Romero is a multi-athlete who will compete in the heptathlon this weekend. She finished eighth in the heptathlon in last spring's American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and ranks eighth in the conference entering this weekend with 4,724 points. She is a junior from Madrid, Spain and a four-time academic all-conference selection.

Garcia is a senior sprinter from Madrid. She ranks first on Wichita State's career list in the indoor 200 (23.61 seconds) and third in the outdoor 200, fourth in the indoor 60 meters and fifth in outdoor 100 meters. This weekend, she will compete in the 200 and likely the 400- and 1600-meter relays.

The AAC Championships begin Friday and continue Saturday and Sunday and is available on ESPN+.
