4/7/2022 1:32:00 PM

WICHITA – The Wichita State men's tennis team will host South Florida for a Friday dual match that will either be held at Coleman Tennis Complex or Genesis Health Club at 1 p.m.

The No. 75 Shockers (12-10) are coming off a 1-2 weekend in Dallas, Texas where they dropped two tough matches to No. 37 Memphis and No. 31 SMU, but came back on the third day to claim a 4-1 victory over Temple.

Kristof Minarik leads the Shockers in singles with a 13-5 record at courts one, two and three, logging a perfect 9-0 at No. 2 and 3. Nicolas Acevedo is 12-6 in singles with a 7-3 record on the top line.

The doubles duo of Minarik and Alex Richards is 10-5, recording wins across all three courts. They will likely face USF's No. 29 ranked pairing of Rithvik Bollipalli and Bruno Oliveira, who are 9-6 and have beaten three ranked opponents this season.

Alvin Tudorica has been a solid singles player for the Bulls with a 13-2 record as he remains undefeated at courts four and five. Antonio Muniz holds a 10-8 singles record, winning eight matches in the No. 3 spot. Ivan Yatsuk and Chase Ferguson have split the responsibility of the top line, recording a 5-12 record between the two of them.

South Florida (10-9) has played six-straight matches against top-60 opponents, picking up big wins over No. 16 Columbia, No. 50 Cornell and most recently No. 58 Tulane.
