WICHITA, Kan. – For the second straight game Wichita State run-ruled Tulsa, 15-7, via walk-off to complete the series sweep Sunday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium.

Wichita State (20-10, 3-0) completed its first series sweep of the season behind a nine-run bottom of the fifth. The Shockers run-ruled the Golden Hurricane in two of the three games on home opening weekend at Wilkins Stadium. In the three games Wichita State hit 12 home runs and scored a total of 38 runs.

Addison Barnard and Neleigh Herring both registered two-home run games to go with five RBI apiece. Barnard homered five times in three games vs. Tulsa, including back-to-back games with two. Herring tied a career-high with five RBI, while also recording her first career multi-home run game.

Lauren Lucas added two hits and an RBI and Krystin Nelson tied a season high with two hits, two runs and an RBI. Wylie Glover drove in a pair behind a single and a bases loaded walk. Sydney McKinney and Jessica Garcia both logged a hit, while Garcia scored twice and recorded an RBI.

Caitlin Bingham started in the circle, lasting just 3.1 innings in the no decision. She allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks. Alison Cooper (4-2) picked up the win in 1.2 innings of relief. She allowed just one baserunner via walk.

Tulsa grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first behind a one-out solo home run off the bat of Haley Morgan. Barnard would answer with a solo shot of her own in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 1-1.

Wichita State then snagged a 5-1 lead in the second behind Herring's first home run of the game, a two-run blast, and a bases loaded walk to Barnard and Lucas sacrifice fly.

Both teams traded a run in the third inning, before Tulsa put up a five-run top of the fourth.

Trailing 7-6, Wichita State went to work in the bottom of the fifth. Herring put the Shockers back on top with her second two-run home run of the day and then Barnard broke it open with a three-run shot.

The Shockers scored their final four runs with the bases loaded via hit by pitch, walk, catcher's interference and a walk-off walk for Glover.
