WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State right-handed pitcher Jace Kaminska and infielder Andrew Stewart were named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.

Kaminska crafted his best start of the season for Wichita State on Friday, picking up his first win of the season with a seven-inning gem in a 5-2 victory over South Dakota State. The sophomore allowed just two hits while racking up a career-best eight strikeouts. Kaminska finished his outing by retiring 14 of the last 15 hitters, setting the side down in order in four of his seven frames.

For the season, Kaminska now owns a record of 1-0 with a 4.71 ERA, having allowed just 19 hits in 21.0 innings with 24 strikeouts and only four walks.

Stewart delivered a career-best week at the plate, going 8-for-15 for a .533 average, scoring five runs while driving in five. He set new personal bests in several different offensive categories in Sunday's win over South Dakota State, finishing 3-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBI. He capped off a nine-run fourth inning with a three-run homer, his first career home run. 
 
The junior shortstop raised his season average to .300 with the outburst, which also included three hits against Oral Roberts on Tuesday, March 8 and two hits on Friday, March 11 against South Dakota State. Stewart has already produced more than half of his 2021 RBI total and half his extra-base hits total in 109 fewer at-bats.
