WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State used a nine-run fourth inning and a seven-run eighth inning to win game three against South Dakota State 19-7.

Andrew Stewart led the Shockers going 3-for-4 with four RBI and a home run, while
Brock Rodden went 2-for-3 with four RBI, three walks and a home run.
Chuck Ingram went 1-for-4 with three RBI and a home run.

SDSU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Henry George and Luke Ira both singled and then Nic Nelson doubled to score George for a 1-0 lead. After a strikeout, Ryan McDonald singled to score Ira to push the lead to 2-0.

The Shockers answered in the bottom of the first.
Jack Sigrist and
Brock Rodden led off with walks. Sigrist came around to score on a wild pitch and
Chuck Ingram's sacrifice fly tied the game at two.

Andrew Stewart led off the second with a single through the left side and advanced to second on a groundout. He came around to score on a single through the right side from Rodden to give WSU a 3-2 lead.

McDonald's home run in the third tied the score at three and chased Shocker starter
Robert Cranz.

Ira's home run in the fourth gave SDSU a 4-3 lead and a Shocker error led to another run as the Jackrabbits went up 5-3.

The Shockers took control in the bottom of the fourth. WSU scored nine runs highlighted by a three-run home run from Rodden, a two-run home run from Ingram and a three-run home run from
Andrew Stewart.

The Jackrabbits answered with two in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 12-7.

WSU used another big inning to put the game away. The Shockers scored seven runs in the eighth inning for the final score of 19-7.

The Shockers are next in action March 18-20 against New Mexico at Eck Stadium.
