DENVER, Colo. – The Wichita State men's tennis team improved to 6-3 on the season following their 6-1 win over the Pioneers Friday at the Denver Tennis Park.

Kristof Minarik and
Alex Richards opened the match with a big win over Denver's No. 24 ranked doubles pairing of James Davis and Matt Summers in their No. 1 doubles debut. The Shockers fell at No. 2 doubles, but
Ray Lo and
Luka Mrsic came back at No. 3 with a 7-6 (11-9) win to claim the doubles point for Wichita State.

Denver tied the match up at 1-1 with a win at No. 2 singles, but
Orel Ovil retook the lead with a straight-set victory at court four and the Shockers never looked back. Richards won at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3, and Mrsic clinched the match for Wichita State with a three-set win at court three.

At court five, Lo wrapped up his match, winning 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9).

Minarik closed out the day with a come-from-behind win in his debut at No. 1 singles to remain undefeated in singles as a Shocker.
