Wichita State welcomed Southern Nazarene Friday night for the second exhibition contest of the fall and posted a 24-0 shutout in 10 innings.
The Shockers put up 22 hits, highlighted by a trio of home runs on the night.
Addison Barnard led off the home half of the first with an inside the park home run. The very next batter,
Lauren Lucas smoked a shot over the right-center wall to make it 2-0.
Lauren Mills capped a six-run bottom of the second with a grand slam to put the Shockers in front, 9-0.
Wichita State would score three runs in the third and fourth, one in the fifth and eighth and two in the seventh and five in the ninth.
Freshman Alison Cooper got the start in the circle and threw 3.0 innings of shutout ball.
Wichita State is right back on the field tomorrow (Saturday) when the Kansas Jayhawks come to Wilkins Stadium for an exhibition. First pitch is at 12 p.m.
