On Monday, Wichita State held its Gold Carpet awards to honor student-athletes for their contributions in the classroom and in competition.
 
Those honored are the team leaders, the workers, the ones who keep locker rooms positive during difficult times and the ones who push their teammates to take a few more swings or a few more shots and get a little better.
 
We've told their stories over the years in many different forms. Here are a few of those stories, from past years, from several of the Shockers honored on Monday.
