WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State's
Neleigh Herring and
Bailey Lange both earned spots on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday afternoon.
Herring was 7-for-15 (.467 Avg.) at the plate during Wichita State's five games last week, including a pair of doubles, four runs scored, an RBI and two walks. In Wichita State's upset of No. 8/6 Oklahoma State, Herring was 1-for-2 with an RBI. She then doubled in a 3-for-3 effort at the dish vs. UTSA and finished the weekend 2-for-3 with another double and a run in the rematch with the Cowgirls.
Lange makes her fifth straight appearance on the honor roll after appearing in three games (two starts) and going 2-0 with a save in 16.1 innings. She recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts vs. UTSAÂ and allowed just three earned runs in her three appearances. Lange threw a complete game in the Shockers' upset of Oklahoma State, allowing only two runs on six hits.
Wichita State opens American Athletic Conference play this weekend when the ECU Pirates come to Wilkins Stadium for a four-game series beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
